I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child this school year! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in Bloomfield Hills Michigan, where I attended Lahser High School. It was there that I met my inspiration for becoming a teacher, Mrs. Volpe. Mrs. Volpe was an amazing teacher. She inspired me everyday to work hard and to do my best. It was then that I decided to become a teacher, in the hopes that I would one day inspire my students in the same way.
After high school, I attended Central Michigan University. I quickly enrolled in the teaching program there and I graduated in December, 2009. I student taught at in a 4th grade classroom. I loved fourth grade, but I have always dreamed of being a Kindergarten teacher. After graduation, I began my search for my dream job. I subbed in many districts and grade levels throughout Metro Detroit. I finally landed a kindergarten teaching job in 2012. This is my fifth year of teaching, and I am so happy that it is in a Kindergarten classroom! I have been loving every minute of working at Ojibwa. The staff, students, and parents are all so wonderful!
Here are some more things that I love:
*My family! (see above picture) I have two sisters who have been my best friends for 30 years, a Mom and Dad who have always believed in me, and a loving husband.
*Books! I love reading! Some of my favorite books include the Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R Tolkien, The Harry Potter Series by J.K Rowling, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin, and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
*Movies
*Music
*The Color Green
*Star Wars!
*Legos
*Animals, especially my cat, Phyllis
*Anything from Starbucks
